A list of all the Starknet events happening at ETHDenver
All this and so much more in this issue of Last week in Starknet!
🎉 A huge update for Cairo!
Last week, Starkware announced the release of Cairo 1.0 Alpha-3, which introduces notable features like Snapshot types. But, if you’re not a developer, you might be asking, why does this matter? The improvements with Cairo 1.0 Alpha-3 will enable developers to write better and richer applications. With better apps, the better the Starknet ecosystem will be!

✨ 2023 will see even more people getting STARK-pilled
Every year, Cointelegraph lists the top 100 influencers in the blockchain ecosystem.
We looked for our names, but we couldn’t see them! However, that doesn’t matter, as StarkWares’ Eli Ben-Sasson, known for his massive contribution to blockchain scalability using STARKs, placed 9th!
2023 will see more and more people get STARK-pilled by Eli. That’s one thing we can guarantee!
👩💻 Another huge developer update for Starknet!
Scarb is a new package manager and build tool for Cairo 1.0, built by the awesome team at Software mansion. They’ve announced that the final alpha version of Scarb v0.1.0 - alpha-2 - introduces git dependencies support, `Scarb add` command, and much more.
Speaking on behalf of the developer community, this is seriously cool.
📈 The Everai’s are bullish on Starknet
One of the Starknet community's favorite NFT project is the famous Everai PFP collection by Snapshot Labs. Earlier this week, they wrote a fantastic thread explaining why they’re incredibly bullish about Starknet.
Let’s face it, if you’re already reading Last week in Starknet, you’re already a fan (we hope) of Starknet. Nevertheless, we highly recommend you read and share it with your friends, as it’ll excite them about the ecosystem!
🔨 Contribute to Kakarot
StarkWare is currently hosting a series of workshops that will teach you how to build on Starknet. If you haven’t already checked it out, you should! In the most recent workshop, Henri and others taught viewers about the Kakarot ZkEVM project and how you can contribute to it.
For those unfamiliar with Kakarot, it’s an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) for Starknet that allows code written for Ethereum to be usable on the network without making major code changes. This makes it much easier for developers to build awesome dapps on Starknet.
🧱 Awesome Developer’s Resources
Lead Developer Advocate at StarkWare, Henri Lieutad, compiled a list of educational videos they made in the past few months covering topics like Decentralization, Cairo 1.0, Volitions, etc.
Starknet Africa wrote a deep dive into Hashstack, a decentralized zk-native money market protocol enabling under-collateralized loans.
Spaceshard wrote a guide teaching you how to fork Starknet’s state to your local devnet.

👀 What to look out for!
As we announced in our previous issue, the Starknet community is going to be present at ETHDenver!
To help make the Denver experience as fun as possible for you, StarkWare has curated a list of all STARK-related events from David Barreto’s tech talk at Interop Summit, Dr. Spacemnn’s talk on L2 day, STARKDenver and so much more. So if you’re heading to ETHDenver, you don’t want to miss out on all these fantastic things!
