The recent Starknet network upgrade, v0.13 reduced the transaction computation cost by approximately 50%, meaning you can now execute transactions on Starknet for less than a dime!

And that’s not all, L1 data availability cost was also reduced by 10-25%.

LambdaClass are collaborating with key ecosystem players such as Cartridge, Herodotus, Kakarot and Giza to maintain and develop key infrastructure projects on Starknet.

Starknet is migrating it’s testnet to Sepolia

Starknet is migrating its testnet to Sepolia following the deprecation of Goerli. In the meantime, Starknet will maintain support for Goerli until the end of 2023 as developers migrate to Sepolia.

Notable explorers like Starkscan, and API providers like BlastAPI, already have full support for Sepolia, with the others working on it.

Note: The Sepolia testnet will be a clean state and will support Cairo v0, v2.0.0, and all higher versions.

Starknet’s first appchain, Paradex, just crossed 1 billion dollars in total trading volume!

Paradex is a perpetual futures exchange on Starknet. It’s good to see people using them.

Kakarot announces completion of its second investment round

Kakarot, a type 2.5 ZkEVM written in Cairo recently announced the completion of its second investment round led by StakeCapital and LongHash VC.

The team explained that the primary objective of this funding round will be to expand the team, and accelerate the development of their Ethereum scaling solution!

Starknet will be migrating it’s testnet to Sepolia

Starknet will be migrating its testnet to Sepolia following the deprecation of Goerli. In the meantime, Starknet will still maintain support for Goerli till the end of 2023 as developers migrate to Sepolia.

Note: Sepolia testnet will have a clean state and will support all Cairo v0, v2.0.0 and all versions higher.

Starknet’s first community-led assembly was a huge success

Earlier this month, Starknet held its first community-led assembly, thanks to the hard work of @sylvechv from @briqNFT, @dojostarknet and @0xwlGravity from @OnlyDust_xyz.

Spanning four days, the assembly was a huge success. The main emphasis was on fostering collaboration and the progress of the entire ecosystem. We’re more bullish on Starknet’s ecosystem than ever before. 

You can now natively mint LUSD on Starknet!

Thanks to the amazing work of the Nimbora team, Starknet has become the first layer 2 that can on mint LUSD natively.

This provides users with a lot of benefits, including lower gas costs, and the ability to borrow with no minimum loan size.

Basecamp VII comes to an End

Basecamp VII is a six-week cohort based Starknet bootcamp organized by Starkware.

Basecamp VII proved to be the most successful cohort to date as it boasted the highest number of teachers from the community (4), the highest number of registrations (449), the highest number of students showing up for session one (148) and the highest completion rate (33%).

Nethermind Internship Testimonies

The Nethermind Internship program is a 1-3 month program aimed at providing interns with valuable, hands-on learning experience in the blockchain space.

The program has given birth to some brilliant STARK scientists who are currently developing the JUNO full node, Voyager Explorer and the CairoVM in Go. You can find the testimonies from a few of them in the thread below:

Cairo v2.3.0rc is live with a new component feature!

The chads at Starkware, recently announced the release of Cairo v.2.3.0rc which comes with one of the most anticipated features of all time…Components.

The Starknet feeder gateway will be deprecated soon

The Starknet team initially whipped up the feeder gateway as a quick fix for checking in on the centralized sequencer's Starknet status. But guess what? The ecosystem has grown up since then, with full-fledged nodes like Pathfinder, Juno, Papyrus, and Deoxys ready to step in.

So, in the not-so-distant future, come Q4, Starknet is giving the old feeder gateway the boot. It's awesome to witness this decentralization shift, and we're all here for it!

StarknetCC Hacker House Istanbul

StarknetCC is coming to Turkey! 

We all know that there’s no StarknetCC without a Hacker House, and the Starknet Foundation are putting one together in Istanbul from the 9th to the 14th of November.

Turkey has a very strong Starknet community and we’re excited to see what cool things are built. Registration has already started! :)

Rhino.fi is coming to Starknet!

Rhino.fi is a multichain DeFi aggregator on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon AND soon to be Starknet. We’re expecting them to hit mainnet soon.

It’s awesome to see DeFi protocols expand to the Starknet ecosystem, we expect many to follow suit as Starknet continues its rise in popularity. 

The Starknet feeder gateway will be deprecated soon

The Starknet team created the feeder gateway as a temporary solution for querying the centralized sequencer on the state of Starknet. However, since then, the ecosystem has matured, and now there’s full nodes such as Pathfinder, Juno, Papyrus and Deoxys to provide that service. 

And so, at some point in Q4 Starknet will be deprecating their feeder gateway. It’s great to see that the ecosystem is ready for a full migration towards the use of full nodes rather than the feeder gateway. 

The ecosystem is decentralizing, and we’re all here for it! 

C# SDK for Starknet

The StarkSharp team have launched a new open-source C# SDK for Starknet. Now you’ll be able to connect your C# games, apps etc. to Starknet with ease.

We think that gaming on Starknet has HUGE potential and it’s good to see StarkSharp contributing to the ecosystem. 

ZKX Accounts?

You could say the chads from ZKX are addicted to shipping. A few weeks ago, they mentioned the ZKX Appchain, and just recently they announced the ZKX Account, which should be the first product to hit mainnet.

ZKX Accounts aim to take advantage of account abstraction to simplify and deliver a seamless UX for new users. Taking the best parts of centralized exchanges (CEX), and combining it with the security and privacy of Decentralized exchanges (DEX).

A hybrid CLOB for Starknet?

CLOB is short for central limit order book. And Layer Akira are claiming to the first hybrid on-chain/off-chain CLOB for Starknet. For users, this means that trades occur at the best price on Starknet. 

Fibrous Contracts rewritten to Cairo V2

Fibrous, the first DEX aggregator on Starknet, has rewritten their Cairo smart contracts to V2. This means a significant optimization in fees and router speed. Oh, and now they also use Ekubo, which means better concentrated liquidity and capital efficiency for Starknet.

The Pyramid team recently announced the release of the Pyramid StoreFront, which gives users the ability to mint and sell their own NFTs without a single line of code.

Say hello to Starknet on Argent Mobile

At Argent, we are committed to bringing crypto adoption to the masses with the aid of Account Abstraction. To keep up with this vision, we added Starknet to Argent Mobile, and in doing so, opened the Starknet ecosystem up to anyone with a mobile phone!

You can now also mint Spoks, view, hold and trade your NFTs from your Argent Mobile. Sounds pretty cool does it! Try it out if you haven’t already. 

PS: At the moment you can’t import your Argent X account into Argent Mobile, but we are working hard on enabling this interoperability soon!

Starknet v0.12.2 deployed to Mainnet

Starkware released Starknet v0.12.2 to Mainnet last week. This release was mainly aimed at enhancing and improving the performance and reliability of the network.

Starknet Summit `23 Recap

It was an amazing week in San Francisco. From hours of hacking at the Palo Alto Hacker house, which saw the emergence of some outstanding projects, to an insightful Basecamp session. Not to mention the talks, workshops and Argent’s MultiSig basketball booth!

And of course, there was also an epic mixer which had the entire Starknet bandwagon partying, dancing and celebrating all night under the Starknet Halo.

Are we expecting a ZKX Appchain?

Last week ZKX announced their own Appchain for the ZKX protocol. With it, their aim is to bridge the gap between security and performance for traders. Check out their announcement post for all the details. 

Snapshot on Starknet?

Snapshot-X is a voting framework for Starknet that will allow any DAO to run their governance on-chain. Their intern account tweeted out that snapshot-x is done, so we’re expecting to see that go live soon! 👀

Starknet was fully represented at Web3Lagos

Web3Lagos, an annual event held by the team at Web3Bridge aimed at bringing together Web3 developers from across Nigeria, held its second edition last week. The event was in partnership with Starkware, Base, Arweave, Aya, IntMax and many more.

The Starknet ecosystem was fully represented by the amazing Starknet Africa team. And you can catch up on some recaps from the event on their page.

Pragma in Cairo 1 🔥

The Pragma team announced the re-writing of their contracts in the new and improved Cairo 1. They have also upgraded their documentation, improved their SDK, and expanded their data to include futures data for both BTC and ETH. 

Introducing Satoru - GMX for Starknet

Satoru are cooking up a new synthetic platform inspired by the popular GMX v2 design. Satoru is being built by the community, and is completely open-source! Get started contributing here.

Starkware will be open-sourcing the STARK prover

A few days ago the chads at Starkware announced that they would be open-sourcing their powerful STARK prover named STONE.

This move is important for the ecosystem, as it's a major step towards an open-source and decentralized community. Developers will be able to utilize and build on top of the STONE prover independently and effortlessly.

If you’re at Starknet Summit, you can tune into an intro session of the prover’s code. 

Starknet v0.12.1 is live on mainnet

The heavily anticipated Starknet v0.12.1 is finally live on Mainnet, thus concluding the Starknet Mainnet Quantum Leap.

This version comes with some upgrades such as mempool validation, the keccak builtin and most importantly the inclusion of failed transactions.

Ekubo protocol has been deployed to Starknet

After a 3 month long sprint, the Ekubo Protocol has finally been deployed to Starknet. 

For context, Ekubo is a next-generation AMM with concentrated liquidity on Starknet. It’s currently on private Alpha, but you can start building extensions or creating positions on Mainnet.

Starknet hits peak TPS!!

Recall the times where Starknet was criticized for being too slow? Well, as Gurkha says, these are now memes for the history book!

Starknet recorded a peak TPS of 128, being the first L2 to break the 100 TPS mark. It’s amazing how far the ecosystem has come in such a short while.

Openzeppelin contracts v0.7.0-rc.0 has been released

The Openzeppelin team recently announced the release of the Cairo v0.7.0-rc-0 which is the first version officially released in over 7 months.

Unity on Starknet?

Time to upgrade your old Starknet accounts!

Starknet is upgrading and if you’ve got some old accounts lying around, you might want to upgrade them so as not to lose your assets before the 21st of August, 2023.

It’s important to note that more than 95% of existing Argent accounts and mobile users are not affected by this, so do not fret, but a quick check to be sure wouldn’t hurt.

Introducing Shoshin: the first asynchronous strategy game on Starknet

An asynchronous strategy game is a type of video game where players take their turns at different times rather than in real-time. Shoshin is the first playable TPS-agnostic asynchronous strategy game for Starknet.

Shoshin is set to bring a never-before-seen online gaming experience, offering not only thrilling actions but delving into the creation of autonomous agents within autonomous worlds on on-chain realities. Check out their video to learn more: 

Announcing the Autonomous Worlds with Dojo grants program

Starkware and the Starknet Foundation have provided $30K+ in funding to empower you to turn your ideas into reality on DOJO. If you are looking to build an Autonomous World on Starknet with Dojo, then look no further. 

Dojo is a provable game engine and toolchain for building on-chain games and autonomous worlds with Cairo 1.0.

Starknet Feeder Gateway will be deprecated soon

The Starknet feeder gateway serves as a gateway for querying the centralized sequencer on the state of Starknet. It was meant to be used as a temporary solution until full nodes that support Starknet’s JSON-RPC mature and are able to meet the needs of the community. 

By the end of August, Starknet will have three different full-node implementations in production (Pathfinder, Juno, and Papyrus). Consequently, it is time to deprecate the feeder gateway and migrate to RPC providers. It’s great to see more decentralization at the sequencer level on Starknet. 

Cairo meetup in Seoul was a huge success

The inaugural Cairo meetup in Seoul (13th August) was a resounding success. And now, the team at Starknet Asia is organizing another!  

The Cairo meetup in Seoul is targeted at all Cairo developers, old and new! It’s a chance to come together and dive deep into the new Cairo syntax. So if you’re located or passing by Seoul on the 20th August, be there. 

LambdaClass will be launching a 3 months online internship program

Are you interested in learning to tackle difficult core engineering problems? Then the team at LambaClass has an amazing offer for you.

Jiraiya and co from Starknet Africa are working on a minimal implementation for broadcasting messages to Starknet via SMS. 

Through an integration with M-PESA, the phone-based money transfer service, the mobile app will allow end users to send and receive value on Starknet rails via text message! Pretty cool if you ask me.

Argent Unveils Web Wallet

Last week, we announced the release of Web Wallet, our invisible wallet for the Starknet ecosystem. 

Web Wallet is a self-custodial wallet in your browser. It takes advantage of account abstraction to bring you the best experience from both web2 and web3. You create a wallet with an email address and password, eliminating the friction that comes with traditional blockchain wallets, such as seedphrases.

To try out Web Wallet, connect to unframed.co with your email. You’ll be blown away by the simplicity. 

Starknet Testnet has been upgraded to v0.12.1

A few weeks ago Starknet v0.12.0 (a.k.a Quantum Leap) hit mainnet, and guess what? Quantum Leap Phase 2 is just around the corner!

Starknet v0.12.1 will improve the efficiency and capacity of Starknet’s sequencers by addressing the issues of failed transactions. By including failed transactions in a block, and charging a fee for them, the chances of DDOS are reduced, and the focus on processing valid transactions is increased.

Fiat -> Crypto Transfers are now available on Starknet

Thanks to the amazing work of the Layerswap team, you can now send fiat from your card or bank account, and receive crypto on Starknet!

This is an amazing feat, as we see it as the key to onboarding the next wave of users to Starknet.

PS: Available to only US users at the moment. 

The Flex Marketplace only gets better

Flex is a dynamic NFT marketplace for Starknet. Last week they revamped their UI/UX, enabling one-click approval for listing NFTs, the ability to view your NFT attributes, stay in the loop with your NFT updates and activities, and much more. 

Encrypted Mempool for Starknet?

The team at Radius has submitted a proposal to the Madara team for the implementation of an encrypted mempool. The mempool should help advance the development of a decentralized shared sequencer.

By adopting an encrypted mempool, rollups can achieve a balance between user protection and effective blockspace optimization.

Arcade account for on-chain games

Last week @loaf from Realms talked about the possibility of Arcade accounts for on-chain games. 

This is an experimental approach to session-based keys using account abstraction on Starknet. We all believe that on-chain games deserve a far better quality UX than what we have now. Session keys are a principal factor in improving this.

Unveiling Unframed - A new NFT marketplace from Argent

Last week, at the highly anticipated StarknetCC event, we proudly unveiled our latest creation: Unframed - the NFT marketplace for the Starknet community. 

We built Unframed to give the NFT community a gateway to all digital art, collectibles, and in-game items being built on Starknet. We believe that Starknet will become the dominant network for blockchain games, and that NFTs will play a significant role in the ecosystem as in-game items.

StarknetCC Recapped

StarknetCC was nothing short of amazing, thanks to the gigachads at Onlydust and Nodeguardians. There were tons of amazing speakers from different teams within the ecosystem (Starkware, Herodotus, Argent, Briq, Braavos, LambdaClass, Dojo, Giza, etc).

It started with an intro talk from Eli Ben-Sasson, Co-founder of Starkware, which really set the tone for the day. Then later on Vitalik joined an awesome panel session on Kakarot ZkEVM, and after that we launched Unframed. The Starknet ecosystem is alive and very well!

Starknet introduces Appchains with Paradex

With the introduction of Appchains, the Starknet Stack tech is now also available to applications that want to benefit from STARK proofs, native Account Abstraction, and the breakthrough in scaling Ethereum.

Appchains can implement features that are not available on Starknet's public chain yet, such as their own fee market logic, consensus mechanism, and other innovations.

Paradex has taken the plunge into DeFi on Starknet by taking advantage of the ability to build custom Appchains. They offer perpetual futures trading with deep liquidity, capital efficiency, and performance while remaining transparent and self-custodial. The launch of Starknet appchains was big news at EthCC.

Fibrous launches StarkRekt

The Fibrous team recently announced the launch of StarkRekt, a tool that allows you to revoke token approvals not only for Fibrous but for the entire Starknet ecosystem!

StarkRekt helps you reduce the security risks associated with excessive approvals. 

Sphinx relaunches as an AMM

The Sphinx team announced they will be relaunching Sphinx as a new AMM that ships with an integrated smart contract maker.

Some of the new features that ship with the relaunch include open-source libraries of market-making strategies, deep liquidity and yield from day 1, and the ability to launch new tokens in minutes. We’re excited about this one!

Quantum Leap hits mainnet

After so much anticipation, Starknet v0.12.0 a.k.a Quantum Leap finally hits mainnet. This upgrade means so much to the entire ecosystem, as it has increased the throughput of the network tenfold. But that's not all! 

Significant improvements have been made to the Starknet Sequencer, such as the integration of Cairo rs, a highly efficient Cairo runner developed by @class_lambda in Rust. And then there’s the development of the Blockifier, a Rust-based block execution logic that plays a vital role in enhancing throughput. Upgrades like these are why we’re so excited about the future of Starknet. 

ZkSync Era is transitioning to a STARK-powered proof system

The Matter Labs team has unveiled Boojum - a high-performance proof system for radical decentralization. Boojum will transition zkSync Era to a STARK-powered proof system, providing world-class performance on consumer-grade hardware.

With nearly all scaling validity-proof systems embracing STARKs are there any doubts as to STARK being the end game for scalability? I think not. 

Juno v0.4.1 is live

The much anticipated Juno v0.4.1 by the Nethermind team is finally ready for download! 

Syncing 90000 blocks on a VM now takes around 24 hours, down from the previous 41 hours. This marks an impressive 1.7x increase in syncing efficiency! You could check the full changelogs here. 

AVNU is now trackable on DefiLlama

Following their strong commitment to transparency, the AVNU team has announced that they are now trackable on Defillama.

You can now monitor AVNU’s growth, and track their daily, weekly, and monthly trading volume here. They’re currently on track for their biggest day of trading volume! 

The Starknet Remix plugin is live

@rohitjrn from Nethermind just revealed that the Starknet Remix plugin being developed by the team had gone live.

The Starknet Remix plugin is aimed at helping you compile, deploy and interact with Cairo contracts very effortlessly. It’s one of many gigabrain projects by the Starknet Nethermind team. 

A new Token page on Voyager

The Voyager team at Nethermind also recently announced the addition of a tokens page to the Voyager Explorer.

The tokens page is aimed at showing every ERC20 and ERC721 token contract on Starknet including the amount of transfers and the amount of holders per token.

Starknet Alpha v0.12.0 a.k.a Quantum Leap hits testnet

The highly-anticipated v0.12.0 a.k.a Quantum Leap has successfully launched on Testnet, with the goal of increasing Starknet’s transaction per second (TPS) and improving performance and scalability. Quantum Leap is a huge moment for the entire Starknet community and is the result of months of hard work. 

Built in collaboration with the Lambdaclass team, Alpha v0.12.0 sees some major changes: a rewrite of the existing sequencer in Rust, the introduction of a Rust-based Blockifier, a replacement of the `PENDING` status of transactions to `ACCEPTED_ON_L2`, support for an experimental `get_block_hash` syscall, and utilisation of the new Cairo compiler v2.0.0.

The Cairo 1.0 Pragma Hackathon comes to an end!

After weeks of intense hacking and shipping of amazing products, the Cairo 1.0 Pragma Hackathon finally came to an end last week, featuring a grand closing ceremony.

A lot of teams built awesome products with strong use cases spanning across account abstraction (AA), storage proofs, Madara, gaming and so many more. We’ll be unveiling some in our next newsletter, so make sure you read that! 

Rango exchange integrates Argent X

The amazing team at Rango Exchange, a cross-chain DEX/Bridge Aggregator recently announced they’ve integrated Argent X wallet, the best and most secure wallet on Starknet.

To get started swapping tokens and assets on Starknet with Rango, head over to the Chrome webstore to download Argent X. We recently passed 1 million downloads! 

Juno undergoes massive improvements

Nethermind's Juno, a node implementation for Starknet, has undergone significant improvements as demonstrated by the recently released test results from Nethermind.

From the test results, Juno was able to sync 90000 blocks in just over 41h, with a 28GiB DB size average CPU usage clocked at 34.3%, while RAM usage maintained an average of 9%, with an RPC response time averaging 31ms & P95 at 39ms!

In case you were wondering… the test results were carried out on a VM with an AMD EPYC 7763 (6 Cores) & 16GiB RAM on mainnet. 

$LORDs is now available for trading

The @LootRealms team have announced that the ecosystem token for the Realms autonomous world is now available for trading on Sithswap and Jediswap!

PS: $LORDs still remains the first ERC20 project token to bridge to Starknet.

Nethermind StarkWeek by Nurstar

Nurstar recently announced the Nethermind Starkweek, a four sessions-series that will explore the great job that the @NethermindStark team has been doing on Starknet!

Recently Starkware announced that their permissioned scalability engine StarkEX, recently surpassed the 1 trillion dollar mark in trading volume.

StarkEx is a permissioned tailor-made scaling engine, designed by StarkWare to fit the specific needs of apps. You could track these activities and information on the StarkEX dashboard.

Argent launches Argent Shield - 2FA for Argent X

We recently announced the launch of Argent Shield, a two-factor authentication service for your Argent X wallet.

Argent Shield is an opt-in service with email available for Argent X desktop users. With Argent Shield your funds are protected even if your seed phrase is compromised, by using your email as an extra layer of defense. 

Argent Shield is 100% censorship-resistant, non-custodial, and you can disable it instantly with a simple 2FA-approved transaction. Check out the thread below for more info.

AVNU crosses 10m dollars in trading volume on Starknet

A month after launching on mainnet, the AVNU team announced that they had already crossed 10 million dollars in trading volume on Starknet.

This is a great milestone for the team and they’ve got more tricks up their sleeves, this is just the V1 of their protocol.

A proposal for Signing in with Starknet?

The Nethermind team recently submitted a technical proposal attempting to specify an encoding for a ‘sign-in’ data standard to enable a Sign in with Starknet for websites, services, and accounts similar to EIP-4361.

The Nethermind team recently announced they’ve taken ownership of the Caigo project.

Last week, the Argent X wallet hit 1 million total downloads. This is a massive feat for us as it shows how close we are to bringing crypto to the masses!

The Starknet Foundation recently announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer, Diego Olivia, previously Facebook's regional director (Europe, Middle East, Africa).

Last week, the team building Pyramid, unveiled that a new NFT marketplace for Starknet will be coming soon. 

Pyramid is an NFT Marketplace being built by Dolven Labs in collaboration with Starkguardians, which will enable you to collect and trade unique digital assets on Starknet. To be the first to get a peek at the launch, ensure to follow Pyramid on Twitter.

Meet the panel of judges for the Pragma Cairo 1.0 Hackathon

Pragma recently unveiled the panel of judges for the ongoing Pragma Cairo 1.0 Hackathon, featuring Eni from Nethermind, Louis from Starkware, Gnana from Starkware, RJ from LamdaClass, Loaf from Realms, Tiago from Herodotus, Thomas from Starknet.ID, Tarrence from Cartridge, Edi from SpaceShard, Greg from Kakarot, Darlington from Argent, Sylve from Briq, 0xevolve from Pragma, Romain from AVNU, Lucas from Starkware and Matteo from Pragma.

The judging process is expected to kick off after the submission deadline expires on the 25th of June, 2023.

Build your first neural network in Cairo 1.0 with Orion

The gigabrains at Giza have been working on Orion, a dedicated Cairo-based library designed specifically to build machine learning models for ValidityML. 

They recently released a tutorial, which is aimed at teaching you how to train your model using Quantized Aware Training using MNIST dataset, how to convert your pre-trained model to Cairo 1, and how to perform inference with Orion.

Argent Xplorer Campaign Updates

Last week we partnered with DEX Aggregator AVNU to bring you our latest NFT drop in the Xplorer campaign. To be eligible for the NFT, you need to perform a swap on AVNU using your Argent X wallet on Starknet Mainnet between 1st May and 23:59 UTC 21st June 2023.

Starknet v0.12 hitting mainnet by summer

Starknet v0.12 mainnet launch, also known as “Quantum Leap”, is expected to arrive this summer. 

Built by a collaboration of the amazing Engineering team from Starkware and LambdaClass, this upgrade is expected to mark a new era in increased throughput and reduced latency as we get to see a rewrite of the sequencer in Rust and the introduction of Volition for Data Availability.

Flex, the pioneering dynamic NFT marketplace on Starknet

With the recent announcement from Mint Square that they are ceasing operations, the NFT marketplace sector on Starknet took a hit, but thanks to the amazing team at RYG Labs, we might be seeing a new and better NFT marketplace sooner than you think.

The Flex team recently announced they would be pioneering a dynamic NFT marketplace on Starknet, Flex intends to build an immersive web3 experience like never before.

Starknet Summit 23 speaker line-up revealed

Starkware recently revealed the speaker line-up for the highly anticipated Starknet Summit 23, featuring OGs like Eli-Ben Sasson, Shafi Goldwasser, Dan Boneh, Noam Nissan and so many more.

The Briq factory is Live

Last week, the Briq team announced the release of the briq factory, this will allow anyone to buy, build and mint briqs. Briq factory will unleash a new era of creativity on briq and allow anyone to build their own NFTs!

For context, briqs are cubic ERC-1155 compliant tokens on @Starknet, allowing you to build NFTs called sets. If you disassemble your set, you get your briqs back and you can build something new! To get started using the Briq factory, check their thread.

Argent X Briq Xplorer Campaign

Last week we partnered with Briq as part of our Argent Xplorer campaign. The qualification requirements are simple: you need to build and mint a briq set on Starknet Mainnet between 6 June and 13 June 2023 at 23:59 UTC to qualify for the Xplorer NFT.

For context, the Argent Xplorer Campaign began a few weeks ago, we are distributing 8 NFTs across 8 weeks to active Starknet X Argent users. If you’re still yet to join the campaign, download and fund your Argent wallet here to get started.

CafeCosmos 0.3 will be built using Dojo

The team at CafeCosmos, a fully on-chain space cafe recently announced they will be building CafeCosmos v0.3 on Starknet using Dojo and Cairo 1.0, to allow for a future where their rigorous token designs and precise systems engineering will be reusable as submodules for games at large.

Cairo 1 workshop at EthPrague

Amongst the many amazing sessions held at EthPrague, we had giga-chad Eni from Nethermind give a Cairo zero to hero workshop, introducing newbies to developing Starknet contracts with the recently released Cairo 1. Keep your eyes out for a recap ICYMI.

An updated Dashboard for Morphine

The team at Morphine recently announced an update to their dashboard which included two major updates that will help you to monitor Starknet activity.

Amongst these updates was adding ZkLend and Carmine Options to the Starknet APY tracking and enabling you to deposit directly into these protocols from your Morphine dashboard. Check out more information in the thread.

Starkfighter game comes to an end

After garnering over 400k players, and over a million played sessions, the popular Starknet game, Starkfighter has been brought to an end.

The game which started as a fun initiative to onboard new users to Starknet, proved to be a large success as we saw a large number of new users compete for different prize rewards from Everai, Argent, and Briq.

Pragma’s Cairo 1.0 Hackathon is almost here

Pragma recently announced preparations for an upcoming Cairo 1.0 Hackathon, aimed at bringing builders together to hack on different innovative solutions on Starknet.

Jediswap AMM crosses $5m in TVL

Last week, the Jediswap team announced they had crossed 5m$ in TVL, and $50m in trading volume. 

This is great news for the ecosystem in general, as it shows how much adoption Starknet has garnered in such a short while!

The recent Argent Xplorer NFT for using Jediswap has helped push this up to $6.8m. There’s still time to be eligible.

LambdaClass is creating an MMORPG on Starknet

Recently, the amazing team from LambdaClass announced they are working on a Multi-player game on Starknet, Curse of Myrra.

Curse of Myrra is a fast-paced multiplayer battle game built using Unity and a custom backend built in Elixir and Rust.

For this project, they’ve assembled a team of 15 engineers, musicians, and artists. Ensure to follow LambdaClass for more updates.

Starknet Nairobi Meetup

Last week, the Starknet African team organized a Starknet meetup in Nairobi. The meetup was a huge success, as a lot of Keyan developers gathered together to explore Starknet and the new Cairo 1.0.

Starkware Ecosystem Lead, Louis Guthmann also gave a great presentation at the event.

Starknet hits an ATH of ~120k daily users

On 10th May, Artemis announced Starknet recorded an all-time high of ~120k daily users, which led to huge congestion in the network. 

This is great proof of Starknet’s increasing adoption! Could it possibly have anything to do with the Argent XPlorer NFT Campaign? 👀

ZKLend launches on mainnet

The ZKLend team recently announced the debut of their mainnet alpha on Starknet.

Users can now deposit, borrow and permissionlessly use key assets on the network, including ETH, USDC, USDT, DAI, and WBTC. You can now interact with ZKLend on mainnet here.

Argent Xplorer Campaign: Week 2

The Argent Xplorer Campaign began last week, looking to distribute 8 NFTs across 8 weeks to active Argent X users on Starknet.

The steps to enable eligibility for the second drop requires you to play the StarkFighter game from StarknetID and submit your score, or to mint a StarknetID domain or subdomain.

If you’re still yet to join the campaign, download and fund your Argent wallet here to get started. You have until 23:59 UTC 16th May!

AVNU X Sithswap

AVNU recently announced an integration with Sithswap, a dual-liquidity-engined AMM that supports both volatile (UNIV2-like) and stable (Curve-like) swaps.

This partnership aims to ensure the best rates on the market, SithSwap supports the creation, LP'ing, and trading of two different liquidity pool types: Stable Pools and Volatile Pools. More info can be found in this thread.

Chainlink’s Cairo Starter Github kit

Last week, Chainlink announced a Cairo Starter Kit on Github that makes it easy to get started building a Chainlinked smart contract on Starknet's zk-STARK-powered network: https://github.com/smartcontractkit/cairo-starter-kit

For a little context, Chainlink previously announced a partnership with Starkware to provide data feeds on Starknet. With the Cairo Starter Kit, get started using Chainlink’s data feeds on Starknet.

Realm qualifies for an Early Adopter Grant

The great Lords of Realm, recently announced they received an Early Adopter Grant (EAG) of 150,000 $STRK from the Starknet Foundation to participate in Starknet network governance.

The mandate of the EAG committee is to make an initial distribution of STRK tokens to early builders of on-chain applications on Starknet, enabling them to participate in the operation of the network, through Staking & Voting.

Charged - The future of web3 debugging

Charged is a Chrome extension that lets you add breakpoints to your transactions so you fix them in seconds and not hours.

Currently live on Starknet, with Charged you can now play around with your inputs and simulate the new transactions to see how your contract reacts.

Starklane - A Starknet NFT bridge proposal

The Everai team proposed Starklane, an NFT Bridge designed to facilitate seamless, secure, and efficient transfers of diverse NFT tokens from Ethereum Layer 1 to StarkNet Layer 2. With support for ERC-721 and ERC-1155 tokens, and an ambition to accommodate future token standards that will exist on Starknet.
